SFC is operating from its R&D and manufacturing locations in Almelo, The Netherlands and Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

We are looking for a/an:

Head of Operations for Clean Energy


Location: Cluj-Napoca
Entity: SFC Clean Energy SRL

The position of Head of Operations is a new addition to the SFC Clean Energy entity and an opportunity for growth in the renewable energy sector. You will manage the value chain from released products to customer deliveries for our Clean Energy Products. This includes supervising supplies, the production of prototypes, outsourcing, quality management, and sustaining activities. You lead and oversee the daily operations.

You will collaborate closely with multiple actors, both at the group level (Purchasing, R&D, Quality) and locally (Location Director, Operations Team Lead, and peer Senior Leads in Cluj) with a strive for operational excellence, achieving sales targets and implementing our group strategy.


What are your responsibilities?

• Design and implement actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short and long-term objectives of the new entity;
• Ensure yearly budget is achieved within the set KPIs;
• Prepare and create budget and CAPEX for next fiscal year for released products;
• Guide Operations for Clean Energy by QLTC targets and identify areas for improvement;
• Plan and ensure smooth production line ramp-ups and knowledge transfer from group to local level;
• Secure smooth transition from Product Development to Operations by close cooperation with the Group Operations Director;
• Secure technology transfer and process sustainability by aligning with the Group Operations Director and Product Development;
• Support the Location Director in Cluj with several site-related topics (ESG, HR activities, facility management);
• Implement strategies to raise performance and maintain growth management for team members;
• Encourage team members to share knowledge and grow personally;
• Prepare and secure internal and external audits.


What should your background look like?

• Bachelor/Master’s degree in Engineering – Technical University, Business or similar disciplines;
• (+) 3 years prior experience in a manufacturing or engineering facility, preferably with a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
• Prior background in operations and back-office management is considered an advantage;
• Strong leadership skills in managing multiple roles within a team;
• Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills to partner effectively with key partners and stakeholders, internally and externally;
• Solid knowledge of data analysis, inventory management software, and forecasting techniques;
• Strength in motivation, communication, and assertiveness, as well as change management;
• High analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with very good time and self-management;
• Strong accountability over the results and ability to work autonomously;
• Advanced skills in MS Office applications (Excel, Powerpoint) and knowledge of ERP systems (eg. SAP);
• Excellent speaking and writing skills in English (C1);
• A general driver’s license (category B);
• Willingness to travel occasionally between Cluj (main location), Almelo (The Netherlands), and Brunnthal (Germany) or to key stakeholders.
