The precision coil

A precision coil is a coil wound with an electric wire (magnet wire) in a wide range of gauges, amount of turns, dimensions, etc, that can be formed in a specific shape, for example, a rectangle or square. Most coils are made of high-quality pure copper, but other metals can be used as well. Below, you can find more info about where the precision coil is used and why you should choose a precision coil.

A precision coil is a coil wound with an electric wire (magnet wire). These coils are tightly wound in layers. SFC wounds the layers as tightly as possible to make the most precise and condensed coil possible so it can fit into an assembly and perform flawlessly. Every coil has its own dimensions, different number of layers, and length of electric conductor (magnet wire). At SFC, we can bend the coils very precisely to make the correct angle to achieve the best performance.

Before coils are delivered to customers, they are tested, inspected, and adjusted to ensure they work well and won’t get damaged or corrupt the device they are set in.

What is the precision coil used for?

A precision coil can be used to steer/adjust an electron beam in the position where it is needed. The coils are fitted and secured around the center of the device. Then, the electrons move as a beam in a vacuum environment through the middle of the coils of the device. Every coil can steer the electric beam independently. An electrical current is needed to steer/adjust a beam and generate a magnetic field.

What sort of machines use precision coils?

Precision coils can be used in many different kinds of machinery and devices. Some include microscopes, motion, surface treatment and welding equipment, computer chips, lasers, and more.

Why a precision coil instead of a standard coil?

A standard coil isn’t created for small spaces and unique setups. This means a regular coil may not be wound up as tight, as flexible, big or small enough to fit into the device, and so on. A precision coil is made to fit your exact needs and wants.

Can production handle low-volume orders?

Since we are a company that specializes in creating unique and highly customized products for our customers, we can consistently manufacture anywhere from four to thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of coils. Whether the precision coils are ordered in the tens or the quality will always remain top-grade. Quality is not something SFC compromises on.

Our team will make sure to explain the process from design to manufacturing and delivery with you, including the timeline. If you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to send our team a message!

About SFC:

SFC specializes in precision coils. Our coils are very tightly wound, and every layer flows smoothly into the next layer. It’s almost impossible to see where the next layer has begun or ended. We are at the top of their field in terms of what we can do. SFC pushes the limits on what is possible. Few other companies are pushing the boundaries and creating such precise products in this field.
