AMRT

AMRT (Additional Minerals Reporting Template)

A free, standardized reporting framework developed by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI). It is designed for downstream companies to perform due diligence, identify supply chain pinch points, and collect sourcing information for minerals that fall outside the scope of traditional conflict minerals tracking. As of April 2026, it has transitioned from being a "pilot" tool to a formal industry standard. If you are being asked for an AMRT, it means your customer is looking for data on minerals that are not yet covered by the standard CMRT (3TG) or the EMRT (Cobalt, Lithium, etc.) Mechanism: Unlike purely qualitative templates that focus strictly on identifying specific smelters or refiners, the AMRT introduces quantitative data gathering. It allows corporate supply chain managers to track mass balance, reporting the specific weights or percentages of mineral inputs categorized as conformant, non-conformant, or unknown.

The RMI Reporting Suite Context

To make your glossary comprehensive, it is highly useful to include how the AMRT fits structurally alongside its sister templates:

  • CMRT (Conflict Minerals Reporting Template): Used exclusively for tracking 3TG (Tin, Tantalum, Tungsten, Gold) to satisfy strict regulatory compliance frameworks like the US Dodd-Frank Act.

  • EMRT (Extended Minerals Reporting Template): Used to monitor the ethical sourcing of high-risk materials not covered by Dodd-Frank, such as cobalt and mica.

  • AMRT (Additional Minerals Reporting Template): Consolidates aggregate, enterprise-level data across multiple facilities, focusing on tracking the actual volume and percentage of responsibly sourced materials.
