Test Engineer

SFC develops, manufactures and markets highly reliable standard and semi-standard high-power platform solution for demanding requirements in laser, semi-conductor manufacturing equipment and analytical applications. Furthermore, SFC co-develops and manufactures highly complex and reliable coils & linear drives for the semi-conductor manufacturing equipment and analytical applications. SFC is operating from its R&D and manufacturing locations in Almelo, The Netherlands and Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
Location: Almelo, the Netherlands
As a Test Engineer you ensure that new products are thoroughly tested, meet all specifications, and are ready for market release. You create and implement comprehensive test strategies, processes and plans that align with project goals and specifications. You coordinate and implement opportunities early in the development process, which helps in reducing time-to-market and ensuring product quality and reliability.
• Lead determination of test objectives, methods, and criteria for success and coordinate effective implementation within product development processes. Ensure that the tests will effectively evaluate the performance, reliability, EMC and safety of the product; • Lead development to achieve optimum test strategies for production within engineering team in cooperation with external laboratory, test development team in Cluj and suppliers, to guarantee the required yield and ZHDR (Zero Hour Defect Rate) at optimal costs; • Coordinate design and development of specialized testing rigs or systems as needed. Regularly check and maintain testing instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability; • Set up risk management assessment and define test processes, methods for mitigation; • Perform various types of testing, such as functional testing, stress testing, environmental testing, and endurance and reliability testing. Operate specialized testing equipment and software; • Execute tests to assess the functionality, reliability and other performance of (early) prototypes, 0-series and/or series products; • Provide clear and detailed documentation of test procedures, results, and any issues encountered; • Use statistical tools and data analysis techniques to interpret results. Identify any deviations, defects, or areas for improvement; • Provide insights and recommendations to improve product performance, reliability, and user experience based on test findings. Collaborate with Development teams to iterate on designs.
• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics or a similar field; • You have work experience in electronics, mechatronics or a similar field; • You can work independently and under pressure and adapt to changes; • You understand product development processes and know testing processes and systems; • You speak Dutch and English.
