Technical Project Buyer

Location: Almelo, the Netherlands and/or Cluj-Napoca, Romania

As technical project buyer you are responsible within the projects to setup the supply chain in the way that the operational purchase team can purchase the serie product without issues (QLTC). You will become an expert in Supply Chain processes. You maintain and grow relationships with different type of partners & suppliers from all over the world.

What we expect?

  • Bachelor degree in a technical business administration
  • A degree/work experience in development of electronic or mechanic is a plus
  • By preference more than 5 years of experience in purchasing in high tech industry
  • Be able to travel internationally approx. 10-20%
  • Be able to negotiate
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the Electronic Manufacturing Service (EMS), Knowledge and understanding of how mechanical and electro mechanical component are manufactured
  • Analytical/ numbers driven
  • Cost sensitive
  • Able to organize
  • Decision making
  • English (C1) / Dutch (min. B1), Romanian and/or German are a plus

The activities consist of:

  • Source, Select and Purchase: materials, parts, (sub)assemblies, and (final) products based on objective (SFC) criteria
  • Ensure by means of Initial Sampling and Inspection Reporting (ISIR), that prototypes of customer parts, (sub)assemblies and (final)products are released to our suppliers, also use this process for release molds and/or other tooling
  • Create insight, advice and take action
  • Create Insight by means of building up a Cost Calculation
  • Advice the team (in early stage), about the actual cost status
  • Set cost improvement actions in the team to realize targets
  • By means of Early Supplier Involvement (ESI), make sure QLTC targets are realized at the end of the project (release for series)
  • Build strong relationships with the supplier (technical team) and internal organisation by communication on distance and face to face
  • Sourcing and approving new suppliers
  • Data analysing
  • Attend events, fairs and exhibitions to follow trends in the market
