SFC is operating from its R&D and manufacturing locations in Almelo, The Netherlands and Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

We are looking for a/an:

R&D Project Leader


Location: Almelo, the Netherlands

As an R&D Project Leader you will play an important role in steering and overseeing SFC Power Supply Solutions R&D development projects. You’ll be responsible for leading talented teams, driving projects from concept to completion, and ensuring the successful delivery of new products. We are looking for an experienced, positive and enthusiastic project leader who can contribute in driving our key development projects going forward.


In your role, you will:

• Independently lead and inspire R&D Power Supply Solutions project teams ensuring alignment with SFC Technology & Market Development goals;
• Define and Implement project plans, follow internal stage gate processes and reporting in regular project review meetings;
• Support a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement within the teams;
• Manage projects budgets, timelines, resources, reviews and communications effectively to a successful launch of new technologies & products;
• Effective interaction between the SFC sites to strengthen international team work;
• Manage development, production & testing of prototypes according to National, International Standards and/or Customer Requirements;
• Ensure that ERP SAP (S/4HANA) functionalities are effectively utilized to enhance project management and research and development processes.
• Handover of product designs at mature level of manufacturing readiness from Development to Operations and share lessons learned;
• Compile and deliver risk assessments, business opportunity analyses and project KPI’s for monitoring;
• Contribute to solving technical problems and introduction of new technological developments to products and processes;


What should your background look like?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in technical business administration or a similar field;
• Proven experience as R&D Project Manager (>5 years);
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to different types of stakeholders;
• Strong drive with a hands-on, structured and accurate working style;
• You are analytical/numbers driven, cost-sensitive, can organize yourself and others;
• Understanding of the electronic manufacturing service (EMS) and knowledge of how mechanical and electro-mechanical components are manufactured;
• Proficiency in SAP ERP tools, preferably with SAP S/4HANA;
• You are fluent in Dutch and English (C1).
