SFC is operating from its R&D and manufacturing locations in Almelo, The Netherlands and Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Operational Buyer


Location: Cluj-Napoca

Our Operational Buyer is in charge of dedicated product portfolios within SFC Energy. The purpose of the role is to coordinate communication and operational activities between the suppliers and internal stakeholders (planning, production, and engineering). You will be in close contact with our partners and suppliers to ensure deliverables as a key person who maintains and grows relationships between companies. We highly appreciate a long-term and stable relationship with our suppliers. Therefore, you will play an essential role in the development of our supplier relationships by building professional and trusting relationships with our partners.


What are your responsibilities?

• You review existing framework agreement orders and deliver them to vendors. The quantity demand/suggestions would be automatically created as a disposition/proposal from our ERP system (SAP);
• You carefully compare the order confirmation to the purchase order and enter it into the ERP system;
• You submit requests to approved vendors and analyze them for our direct material requirements;
• You arrange deliveries and quantities of batches for the vendors you are in charge of;
• You monitor the confirmed delivery date and guarantee that the goods arrive at SFC on time so that manufacturing can proceed according to planning;
• You accurately check the invoices, before you direct them to the finance department for payment; in case of a mismatch, you align with the supplier.
• You create up-to-date cost calculations for assigned products and explain extra costs;
• You track vendor performance and provide reports with reference to their activity;
• You maintain and update the ERP system while ensuring high levels of accuracy;
• You create an efficient and cost-effective supply chain to fulfill both, the company and customer needs;


What should your background look like?

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management or a relevant field;
• At least 2 years of experience in supply chain and operations, preferably in manufacturing;
• Advanced skills in MS Office applications (Excel, Powerpoint) and knowledge of ERP systems (SAP is a plus).
• Good English communication skills (both oral and written),
• Ability to communicate concisely and act in a multicultural and cross-functional environment at all levels inside and outside the company;
• Analytical mindset, proactive and team player attitude;
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes;
• Result-oriented, and high flexibility;
• Willingness to travel, occasionally, to external stakeholders;
