SFC develops, manufactures and markets highly reliable standard and semi-standard high-power platform solution for demanding requirements in laser, semi-conductor manufacturing equipment and analytical applications. Furthermore, SFC co-develops and manufactures highly complex and reliable coils & linear drives for the semi-conductor manufacturing equipment and analytical applications. SFC is operating from its R&D and manufacturing locations in Almelo, The Netherlands and Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

We are looking for a/an:

New Product Introduction Engineer


Location: Cluj-Napoca
Entity: SFC Clean Energy SRL
Division: Power Supply Solutions

As an NPI Engineer, you will secure and oversee product transfers from outside facilities to the Cluj plant. You will introduce new products and prototypes into production, and provide guidance on processes, tools needed, and time estimates. You will be working in an international setting with colleagues from Romania and the Netherlands. You will play a significant role in the R&D team’s efforts to continuously improve SFC products.


What are your responsibilities?

• Develop documentation to support production (work instructions, flow charts, procedures, routings, product labels);
• Work on ECNs (Engineering Change Notes) to modify components and functions for the released products;
• Perform all aspects of Product Engineering through the NPI and engineering change process;
• Integrate and implement electronic and mechanical prototypes and permanent test equipment in support of new product development efforts;
• Work in close cooperation with other project members to translate the customer’s specifications into a product that meets the "Critical Design Specification (CDS);
• Actively participate in design reviews and provide input to new electronic circuit design obsolescence redesigns;
• Ensure all components are correctly registered in the ERP and PLM system to provide a smooth transfer through proper bill of materials management;
• Conduct FMEA and PFMEA.


What should your background look like?

• Bachelor/Master’s degree in Engineering – Technical University (Electrical or Electronics);
• 2+ years’ experience in an engineering or manufacturing role;
• Demonstrated process and product improvement skills and experiences;
• Knowledge of project management and technical design;
• Organized with excellent time-keeping and strong analytical thinking;
• Drive and determination, proactive approach to solving matters and finding solutions;
• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills in English;
• Microsoft Office Package knowledge;
• Have the willingness to travel 20% of the time between Cluj (the main location) and Almelo (the Netherlands).
