Mechanical Design Engineer

SFC develops, manufactures and markets highly reliable standard and semi-standard high-power platform solution for demanding requirements in laser, semi-conductor manufacturing equipment and analytical applications. Furthermore, SFC co-develops and manufactures highly complex and reliable coils & linear drives for the semi-conductor manufacturing equipment and analytical applications. SFC is operating from its R&D and manufacturing locations in Almelo, The Netherlands and Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
Location: Almelo, the Netherlands
As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing and maintaining mechanical components and analyzing material characteristics to meet design specifications. You will be the knowledge owner of the mechanical design of our products and continuously strive to improve those.
• Create a mechanical design in close collaboration with an Electrical Designer; • Create and maintain mechanical architecture, standard article classification, bill of materials and assembly drawings; • Define tests in order to use new technology into designs; • Design and maintain mechanical components in Solid Works to be used as a standard library; • Design/select and implement mechanical tooling to improve efficiency of company processes; • Optimize mechanical parts; • Analyze material characteristics to make design decisions; • Conduct thermal analysis, mechanical stress, shock, and vibration calculation/simulation; • Make proposals for design improvements to reduce costs or to ensure product quality; • Manage mechanical design files; • Make proposals for improvements and new products.
• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; • You have at least 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering in the field of electronic products; • You have sufficient understanding of electronic manufacturing service and knowledge of how mechanical and electronic products are manufactured; • You have solid experience in SolidWorks; • You have good communication skills and are able to work independently; • You are flexible, disciplined, results-oriented, and able to plan and organize; • You speak Dutch and English.
