We are looking for a/an:

IT System Administrator

Location: Almelo, the Netherlands

We are seeking for a service-minded and inquisitive IT System Administrator to support the increasing professionalization of the company’s IT infrastructure. To achieve this, you will be part of and work closely with our international IT team at SFC Energy Group.

Job purpose:

You will drive the global IT strategy for the local site by serving as the liaison between key users and the IT Group. Another key responsibility will be ensuring that our IT tools and network are operational at maximum capacity so that our colleagues are able to perform their tasks smoothly.

In your role, you will:

• Be the first point of contact for employees, customers, and Group Head of IT;
• Be responsible for processing technical queries using the internal ticketing system and keeping track of these issues throughout the resolution process;
• Create and implement change request procedures;
• Conduct root cause studies for incidents and identify any areas for improvement;
• Facilitate knowledge sharing, provide technical guidance, and help other colleagues;
• Be the specialist in specific fields of expertise within IT (e.g., MS Exchange and storage);
• Be responsible for server management, user management, asset management, endpoint management, and security including daily checks, patches, installations, and software updates;
• Offer both first- and second-line support;
• Assist with global cloud migration (MS365/Azure);
• Participate in disaster recovery and failover strategies;
• Report to the Managing Director and Group Head of IT.

What should your background look like?

• Vocational Secondary Education in IT;
• 5+ years of demonstrable experience in software administration, configuration, and support;
• Solid knowledge of best practices in IT administration and system security;
• Experience with server management, visualization, firewall, storage and backup systems, Exchange, network techniques, and office automation;
• Ability to work independently, organize, and multi-task;
• Methodical work approach, proactive attitude, critical thinking, and customer focus;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Good Dutch and English communication skills (both oral and written).
