IT Support Engineer

SFC is operating from its R&D and manufacturing locations in Almelo, The Netherlands and Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
Location: Cluj-Napoca, Romania
We are seeking a service-minded and inquisitive IT Support Engineer to support the increasing professionalization of the company’s IT infrastructure. To achieve this, you will be part of and work closely with our international IT team at SFC Energy Group.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a keen interest in IT to develop and grow within a collaborative and dynamic environment while gaining hands-on experience.
Job purpose:
As an IT Support Engineer, you will actively contribute to the completion of team goals and assigned tasks. You will assist our computer system users with technical issues. You will research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve internal customer issues in an accurate and timely manner.
• Be the first point of contact for employees and support desks of third parties; • Be responsible for processing technical queries using the internal ticketing system and keeping track of these issues throughout the resolution process; • Execute change request procedures; • Conduct root cause studies for incidents and identify any areas for improvement; • Facilitate knowledge sharing, provide technical guidance, and help other colleagues; • Be the specialist in specific fields of expertise within IT (e.g., MS Exchange and storage); • Assist in server management, asset management, and endpoint management and execute user management, including daily checks, patches, installations, and software updates; • Offer first-line support; • Assist with global cloud migration (MS365/Azure); • Participate in disaster recovery and failover strategies; • Report to the Managing Director and Group Head of IT.
• A degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred; • 1+ years of demonstrable experience in an IT support role; • Knowledge of best practices in IT administration and support procedures; • Experience with server management, virtualization; Exchange and storage are a plus; • Experience in backup systems, network techniques, user management, and office automation; • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools; • Methodical work approach, proactive attitude, critical thinking, and customer focus; • Good analytical and problem-solving skills; • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; • Good English communication skills (both oral and written).
